A Revolutionary Calendar
Andrew Gold developed the Jewish LunarSolar Calendar in 2003 to facilitate his own problem in understanding the Jewish year and its cycles. He used his skill in information architecture, design, and presentation to create a brilliant calendar. In the process, he combined two of his greatest passions - creating simple solutions to complex problems and vibrant Judaism. Over the years, he submitted several of his original Jewish LunarSolar Calendar™ to the US Copyright Office for legal protection of his intellectual property. People all over the world are amazed by his calendar's originality, simplicity, and beauty in addition to function. Against an ocean of boring and confusing Jewish calendars rises a bright star, or should we say moon.
The Moon & The Sun
The Christian calendar is based upon the sun and the Muslim calendar is based upon the moon. The Jewish calendar balances the forces of the sun and the moon. It is a lunar calendar that makes a solar correction so that Passover, the time of freedom, will always arrive in the Spring as the Torah commands. Passover can never fall in the winter. It is a calendar far beyond human logic and perfectly in synch with the Universe.
Hidden Understanding
The majority of Jews have minimal understanding of the Jewish calendar. Non-Jews also have minimal exposure to the Jewish calendar. The Jewish calendar was never presented in a format which presented the information clearly, beautifully and intelligently. No one gave the Jewish calendar a presentable interface to facilitate understanding.
Breaking the Understanding Barrier
Andrew Gold spent years of study in Israel in Arad, Safed, Jerusalem, and Efrat in 2003. He studied with Kabbalistic masters and spiritual guides who illuminated for him the hidden mysteries of the Book of Books. In his quest to understand Judaism and the power of the Jewish year and its Biblically dictated cycles, he created sketches of the moon and the days. He carefully studied the Torah - the Five Books of Moses - in its original Hebrew reading it word by word many times over.
Judaism believes that moon and its energy are spiritually directed from heaven in a repeating cycle throughout time. Unfortunately the clarity of the moon and its connection to Judaism has quietly faded.
